This year’s SEMA booth was based on a historical Route 66 theme.
The two featured vehicles were restored with the company’s Metalux® Premium Automotive Coatings. Each car adding a classic touch to the overall booth theme. The first was a 1968 Cadillac Coupe DeVille owned by Jason Duhon of Las Vegas. Working in conjunction with Count’s Kustoms shop and Lesa's Auto Body Supply in Las Vegas, NV., the vehicle’s paint job reflected a combination of an American classic with a modern twist. The second, was a 1969 Camaro owned by Jeff Starley which was an all matching numbers restoration project. A classic muscle car restored with the Metalux® range of products and finished with a Hugger Orange basecoat color.
The company chose this theme because it was a time when cars were cool and America was going through the transformation and urbanization of its countryside. “Mom and Pop” service stations were expanding up and down the “mother road” offering the “full service with a smile” experience including anything from washing windows, checking tire air pressure to changing the oil, grease and fan belts. It was a pleasure for them to offer personalized, friendly and courteous customer service.
ChemSpec felt the correlation between the full-service stations of yesteryear and their business where both offer an experience—a relationship. After all, their U.S. roots began with a man named Pete Peterson, who believed in the ideal that customers were part of an extended family. Treat them as such and the rest will take care of itself.
Those were the days that people look back fondly upon. A time when full-service was an everyday term. At ChemSpec they believe that full-service doesn’t have to be a thing of the past; a memory of something that used to be. Time may bring about changes, but in their business some things still hold true.
“Our company offers a much better, more accessible brand personality”, said Tammy Anderson, Marketing Communications Manager. "Our employees and our management team are available to our customers for one-on-one conversations. How many businesses can say this about their executive team?”
At ChemSpec,USA, we are celebrating 40 years of service with our customers. We are now a part of the Axalta group, a much bigger, more diversified organization. These same core values are still the foundation of our business; together we are growing and building even stronger relationships.
