SEMA Attendees Get Their ‘Kicks’ at Route 66 Theme - ChemSpec USA Booth

  • SEMA Attendees Get Their ‘Kicks’ at Route 66 Theme - ChemSpec USA Booth

New twists and updates to old favorites was the theme at our 2017 Route 66 Booth. Both featured vehicles at our SEMA booth were restored using our Metalux® Premium Automotive Coatings. Envision these gorgeous vintage cars with colors popping vibrantly against our nostalgic Route 66 booth.

Our first featured show car was a 1951 Chevy Pickup customized by Loren Rickabaugh of Custom Auto Rebuilder. Fulfilling every tailgater’s dream, this pickup is customized from head to toe featuring a 427ci L88 engine with 1957 Corvette frame with rack-and-pinion steering and disk brakes. Custom fabricated inner fenders and firewall with Suburban quarter panels, fenders and rear doors. Extreme modifications include a Galley that features an infrared grill and refrigerator, and of course, a TV! Aptly titled the Cameo Tailgater, this “mancave on wheels” was the delight of SEMA attendees.

The other eye-catching car in our booth was a coveted classic 1932 Ford Coupe by Wes Adkins —complete with a Twin TorqStorm supercharged 5.3L LS engine, Dual 650 AED carburetors, a custom scoop and induction tubing, and Trick Flow heads with a roller cam and rockers. Outside details include smoothed body lines, a 4-in. chopped top, flush-mount LED taillights, a smoothed firewall and custom Metalux Paint by Wild Wes Paintworks that complements the brilliant shine of all the custom chrome.

ChemSpec USA selected the Route 66 theme to harken back to a nostalgic time when cars were cool, and America’s Highways were transforming our rural countryside to urbanization. These were the days of full-service “Mom and Pop” gas stations offering the “full service experience with a smile” which included anything from washing windows, checking tire air pressure to even changing the oil, grease and fan belts. Personalized, friendly and courteous customer service was the cornerstone of their success. Similarly, ChemSpec has always valued its personalized relationship with our customers. This spirit of customer service began with Pete Peterson, founder of Montana paints now ChemSpec USA, who believed in the concept that customers were part of an extended family. Treat them as such and the rest will take care of itself. At ChemSpec USA, we believe that full-service doesn’t have to be a thing of the past. We believe in understanding our customers’ needs and working with them to help shape their success.

“Our company offers a much better, more accessible brand personality,” said Tammy Anderson, Marketing Communications Mgr. “Our employees and our management team are available to our customers for one-on-one conversations. How many businesses can say this about their executive team?”

ChemSpec USA has manufactured a wide array of collision repair products for the Automotive, Fleet, OEM and Industrial Markets for more than 40 years. ChemSpec is now part of the Axalta Coating Systems family of brands and is dedicated to growing and strengthening relationships with customers in the USA and worldwide.
